Ingredients
  

For the Pizza
  • 2 loaves (1 pound each) fresh or frozen pizza dough, thawed
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 1 can (28 ounces) whole tomatoes, drained and crushed
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 can (2 ounces) anchovy fillets, drained and broken into 1/4-inch pieces
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
  • Fresh torn basil leaves

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a 15x10x1-inch baking pan.
  2. Press dough to fit the bottom and 1/2 inch up the sides of the pan. Brush with 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
  3. Top the dough with crushed tomatoes, chopped onion, and anchovy pieces.
  4. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the toppings.
  5. In a small bowl, combine the bread crumbs with the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Sprinkle this mixture over the mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake on a lower oven rack for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  7. Sprinkle with fresh basil leaves before serving.
