- In a small bowl, combine the shredded cheeses, mayonnaise, and onion powder. Mix well.
- Spread 1 tablespoon of softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
- Place two slices of bread, butter-side down, in a cold skillet or on a griddle.
- Divide the cheese mixture evenly between the two bread slices.
- Top with the remaining two slices of bread, butter-side up.
- Cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted and gooey.
- Slice in half and serve immediately.
Notes
For an even crispier crust, you can use a combination of butter and mayonnaise on the outside of the bread.
