Smoky Chicken Skewers with Garlic Yogurt

These chicken skewers are marinated in a smoky spice blend and grilled to perfection. Served with a cooling garlic yogurt sauce, they make a delicious and easy meal.

Ingredients
  

For the Chicken Skewers
  • 500 g chicken breast cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper optional
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
For the Garlic Yogurt Sauce
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh mint chopped, optional
  • to taste salt

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, combine the chicken cubes with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat the chicken evenly.
  2. Thread the marinated chicken onto skewers.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Grill the chicken skewers for 6-8 minutes per side, or until cooked through and slightly charred.
  5. While the chicken is grilling, prepare the garlic yogurt sauce. In a small bowl, mix together the plain yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, chopped mint (if using), and salt.
  6. Serve the smoky chicken skewers immediately with the garlic yogurt sauce on the side.

Notes

You can soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before use to prevent burning.
