Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles

Ingredients
  

For the Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch
For the Noodles
  • 8 ounces Noodles e.g., spaghetti, linguine, or ramen
  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 inch Ginger grated
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup Green onions sliced, for garnish

Method
 

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, water, brown sugar, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Set aside.
  2. Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  4. Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet with the beef. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour the prepared sauce into the skillet. Stir well to combine with the beef mixture. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  6. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet. Toss to coat the noodles evenly with the sauce and beef.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with sliced green onions.

Notes

You can adjust the sweetness and saltiness of the sauce to your preference. For a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce mixture.
