Ingredients

For the Bowls
  • 1 lb Ground beef 80/20 or 90/10
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese or your favorite cheese
For Serving
  • 4 cups Shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup Diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup Diced red onion
  • 1/2 cup Dill pickle slices chopped
  • 1/2 cup Ketchup
  • 1/4 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Mustard

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Knife
  • Cutting board

Method

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute more.
  3. Reduce heat to low. Place the cheese slices on top of the beef and cover the skillet for 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
  4. While the cheese melts, prepare your serving bowls. Divide the shredded lettuce among four bowls.
  5. Top the lettuce with the seasoned ground beef and melted cheese mixture.
  6. Add the diced tomatoes, red onion, and chopped pickles to each bowl.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, mayonnaise, and mustard to make the sauce. Drizzle the sauce over the bowls.
  8. Serve immediately.
