Cucumber Agua Fresca

A refreshing and light drink perfect for hot weather.

Ingredients
  

For the Agua Fresca
  • 1 medium cucumber peeled and roughly chopped
  • 2 cups watermelon cubed, seeds removed
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/4 cup lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 2-4 tablespoons sugar or to taste
For Garnish (Optional)
  • 1/2 cup mint leaves fresh

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Fine-mesh sieve
  • Pitcher

Method
 

  1. Combine the chopped cucumber, cubed watermelon, water, lime juice, and sugar in a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing on the solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids.
  4. Chill the agua fresca in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  5. Serve over ice, garnished with lime slices and fresh mint leaves if desired.

Notes

Adjust the amount of sugar to your preference. You can also add a pinch of salt to enhance the flavors.
