Method
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- Thinly slice the onion and place it in the bottom of a casserole dish.
- Combine the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Season both sides of the chicken with this mixture. Lay the seasoned chicken on top of the onions in the dish.
- Spread the BBQ sauce equally over each chicken breast. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the dish.
- Cover the dish and bake for 25 minutes. Then, remove the cover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Top with crispy crumbled bacon and chopped green onions before serving.
