Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and milk. Stir until well mixed.
- Fold in half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Pour the chicken mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- In a small bowl, combine the crushed crackers and melted butter. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the casserole.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the top during the last 5 minutes of baking, if desired.
- Let stand for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
You can add other vegetables like peas or carrots to the casserole mixture for extra flavor and nutrients.
