Chicken Casserole

A simple and comforting chicken casserole recipe.

Ingredients
  

For the Casserole
  • 2 cups cooked chicken shredded or diced
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup 10.5 oz
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup crushed crackers like Ritz
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, and milk. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Fold in half of the shredded cheddar cheese.
  4. Pour the chicken mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  5. In a small bowl, combine the crushed crackers and melted butter. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the casserole.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the top during the last 5 minutes of baking, if desired.
  8. Let stand for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

You can add other vegetables like peas or carrots to the casserole mixture for extra flavor and nutrients.
